My experience in OCR started 3 years ago at Ratrace Dirty weekend 2013 and the Spartan Beast later that year. I found the more I did the more I enjoyed it plus I met some amazing friends along the way!
In 2014 my sister-in-law was sadly diagnosed with progressive MS. Wanting to do something to help, I decided to put my OCR running to good use and fundraise.
So training was hit hard and a Just Giving page was set up. 100% of my commitment was given to every single race, each one meant so much to me, every step, every kilometre and every medal. So a tough but very successful year ended with over £1,000 being raised. I also won 1st female at Avalanche run, 2nd at DOTT, 1st at Nettle Warrior and qualified for UK and Worlds championships. #ocraddicted.
For 2017, I have already booked a half Iron Man and obviously Bootneck Challenge. I think all us OCR addicts want something new and exciting to keep us on our toes, especially through the winter months and Bootneck Challenge comes at the perfect time of year. Not too boltic and not too late that you’ll be taking time off training over the winter months!!!
This is not going to be one to miss!!
